Conservative griping part the 'nth
Jan. 23rd, 2011 06:07 pmAccording to Nick Robinson, the problem with Labour is that we're simply too interesting; the poor boy can't take his eyes off us.
Labourites: feel suitably chastened. Unlike our conservative counterparts, we just haven't got the hang of 'dull'.

Date: 2011-01-23 08:40 pm (UTC)Hah, very good! That promises to be quite the challenge.
Though with Balls and whatsisname going at it hammer and tongs they probably wouldn't notice a bomb going off in their general vicinity.

Date: 2011-01-23 08:43 pm (UTC)I knew you'd be up for it. Would you care to wager anything on the outcome?(no subject)
Date: 2011-01-23 09:07 pm (UTC)I consider a small wager to be obligatory under these circumstances. A bottle of the Speaker's finest to the winner?
By the way, do you have any particular reason for stalking the Speaker while he's at work, or should I not ask in the name of plausible deniability?

Date: 2011-01-23 09:13 pm (UTC)Agreed.
No, no reason; however I propose that John referee the match, with the Chair acting as a convenient finishing line. I'm sure he won't mind, there won't be much else requiring his attention.

I see you're expecting an uneventful debate--or were New Labour standards of chaos much higher?
All I can say is, if Bercow's proposing to give Balls free run of the house for the debate then the two of us could just run naked down the middle and I doubt anybody would notice.

Date: 2011-01-23 09:38 pm (UTC)I am sure John is practiced enough in his role as to be able to maintain full order in the House with a look, or at worst, a raised eyebrow at the offending member. If not, well, nothing teaches a person to swim faster than being thrown in at the deep end.
I'm off to catch a good night's sleep before next week. Those camp beds really aren't all they're cracked up to be.

Date: 2011-01-23 09:54 pm (UTC)I'm sure he is, so long as those pesky dry Tories don't get going again.
Trust you'll sleep well, old chap. The camp beds really were abominable, weren't they?
