It has long been understood that a certain formality and sobriety of dress is necessary to preserve the dignity of the House.  It has also been long observed that the sartorial inelegance of a certain speaker can cause severe ocular injury to those not inured to his execrable clothing choices.

Something must be done.

It ought to be easy enough to access his wardrobe. Sally, surely, has noticed his utter disregard for our eyes.

Perhaps, but she clarly hasn't done anything about it. I fear she may be in cahoots with him in this instance.

Damn. She's normally a woman of some taste Except of course in her choice of party

In that case, it ought to be easy enough to find a time when they are both out; twitter and the House schedule can aid us here.

Her choice of party was a perfectly sensible decision, her choice of husband....

Hmm, it's John's birthday tomorrow. I suspect they will go out for dinner, we could try something then.

They have children, I'm fairly certain it will be a night out. Don't ask why I know that. This may mean we will need to bypass a babysitter, but that shouldn't be too difficult.

And then replace all items with plain shirts and ties which are less... offensive to the retina?

Burnham suggested bleaching. That boy will go far.

Is that an endorsement? Because I don't know how well that will reflect on his next Leadership bid

I did not endorse any candidate. Besides, I doubt we'll be having another Leadership election soon, we're not Lib Dems after all.

Bright, neon, glow in the dark RED.

If we want to be able to dye as many as possible, then black is the best choice. Lighter colours won't mask the original hue as completely.

Whilst I approve of formal wear, I'm not sure I can condone all black tie, but I appreciate your reasoning...

I do need to purchase a number more for David though, so perhaps I can't comment on variety

Tomorrow then; you bring the bleach and the ink, I will take care of the house-wards and any transportation we may need.
