*Peter ignores the text in favour of gathering enough ingredients to make a rather large risotto and stepping through the fireplace. He shoots John a filthy look, but allows Oliver to follow him through to the kitchen and begins to teach him how to cook dinner.*
*John tries to say "hello", "good evening" or even "thank you", but Peter is gone too quickly for him to get past the first sound. John follows Peter to the kitchen, attempts conversation, but when his efforts are ignored, instead sighs and goes to re-set the table.*
*Peter doesn't even bother to sit with them whilst they eat, this time, preferring to leave via the fireplace whilst the children are still squabbling over the plate of grated cheese.*
*John sighs (again) and rubs his forehead. He sends over the bottle of wine he had prepared - a gift from some speaking engagement or another, he can't remember now.*
*Peter hurls the bottle back through the fireplace. John will catch it. Probably. Or will have set up a buffer spell. Probably.*

Bercow,
it is exactly the same bottle as the one you suggested I visit in order to sample it as a ruse to get me to cook dinner for your children. If it is likely that they will go hungry, you could simply ask and drop the pretence of enjoying my company.
*John hears the bottle coming through the fireplace before he sees it. The glass bottle hurtles across the room and John only just manages to get to it before it hits the dark wood wall.*
What the he-
*John's phone buzzes. He puts the wine down on the table and then picks up the phone.*
*He reads Peter's message, groans and replies.*

Peter,
I was planning to get in a take-away for all of us, if you had wanted to join us. The wine was something I'd been saving - hopefully until the whole court case business had passed, but I thought that perhaps your triumphant return to parliament and your business deal called for a bit of a celebration.

Fine. I shall have to drink this gift of apparently very expensive wine all by myself in that case.

Bercow,
I have no interest in drinking alone, nor in being bribed into ensuring that my putative nephews and niece do not starve.
