Progress on The Machine: NOT the gadget, Paddy, thanks so much. Ordered new valves from Swagelok.  Hopefully solid silver fittings will reduce thaumic leaks.

I suspect you may be attempting to distract from the more pressing question of why you were sitting in a patch of miscellaneous and unspecified vegetables when it was dark and raining in the first place. I very much doubt you are that keen on gardening.

Mr Laws, I have no intention of delving into your personal life, you know I guard mine with equal vigour; I would merely point out that personal conflicts cost New Labour very dear. They reduce one's own and one's party's ability to function and the Liberal Democrats cannot afford one, let alone two, important members to be operating at sub-optimum efficiency.
