The boy is doing well, certainly better than is helpful given the current situation. Our long term strategy is reasonably secure, but a short term boost to keep us in the public's good books would not be unwelcome.

...and of course, a scattershot approach to divert media attention elsewhere can be very effective.

INDEED I WOULD AGREE THAT, PRIOR TO THE INTRODUCTION OF NEW LABOUR, PRIME MINISTERS WOULD BE ABLE TO AVOID CONSTANT MEDIA SCRUTINY. BUT NEW LABOUR PLANS HAVE ALWAYS INCLUDED USING THE MEDIA TO OUR ADVANTAGE, A TACTIC WHICH DAVID CAMERON THEN LEADER OF THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY DUPLICATED, ALBEIT LESS SUCCESSFULLY.

WITH THE CURRENT AVAILABILITY OF SOCIAL NETWORKING AND 24 HOUR NEWS BROADCASTING, THE HUMAN POPULATION DESIRES AND EXPECTS TO KNOW ALL THINGS ABOUT THEIR LEADING POLITICIANS AT ALL TIMES, AS EXEMPLIFIED ONLY RECENTLY.

WAS GORDON BROWN NOT COGNIZANT OF THIS ACTUALITY?

Gordon was always very clear that he had responsibility for policy and I for publicity, he preferred to steer clear of the 'media circus'.

THAT DECISION SEEMS ILLOGICAL AND UNSUCCESSFUL, MASTER. I WOULD DECLARE GORDON BROWN'S CALCULATIONS TO REACH THAT CONCLUSION AS INCORRECT.

People are not always as logical as they might be. Use it as a case study when attempting to predict the behaviour of others.
