Machines can evolve.

Fascinating.

So they can.

On the other hand, if I were building a machine to enable me to dominate the political establishment, I think I'd worry quite a lot about what it might evolve into.

I'm sure you'll be on site with your trusty rocket launcher, should things get out of hand.

[identity profile] paddythebamf.livejournal.com 2011-01-29 07:41 pm (UTC)(link)
My rocket launcher and I are at your disposal. Just say the word.

But maybe you should find somewhere away from a built-up area to make the experiment. I'd hate to have to explain away the damage otherwise.

Your cabbage patch cannot be everything to everyone, Paddy.

[identity profile] paddythebamf.livejournal.com 2011-01-29 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
My cabbage patch would not make a suitable location for meddling with the unknowable.

After all, if anything messes with Jane's garden, I'll be the one sleeping in it for the forseeable future.

On the other hand, I'm sure Checkers would be perfect at this time of year.

Spoil sport. One would almost think you'd grown timid in your elder years.

Perhaps, but Chequers is in Bercow's territory.

[identity profile] paddythebamf.livejournal.com 2011-01-29 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps you'd care to come over here and say that.

It is? How very tiresome. Dorneywood, then, maybe?

I'd love to visit, but I have so much to do in London at the moment. Maybe some other time.

Still pretty much Speaker territory. Always annoying to have to ask before being able to draw on an area's thaumic field.

[identity profile] paddythebamf.livejournal.com 2011-01-29 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I see the mountain will have to come to you, then.

We're still due a parliamentary race, aren't we.

[identity profile] therealpm.livejournal.com 2011-01-29 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
'The Mountain'. Is that what they're calling you these days? Better than 'Pantsdown' I suppose...

We are and we will have it just as soon as boy George manages to extract himself from under his security blanket to face Balls across the despatch boxes.

[identity profile] paddythebamf.livejournal.com 2011-01-29 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, fuck. Not you too.

I'd prefer it if you don't use that name.

I don't know what he has to worry about. He just has to bray 'thirteen years' a few times and the media will tell the world he's won.

[identity profile] therealpm.livejournal.com 2011-01-29 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I will refrain from using it in future except when it's amusing, or I want to annoy you.

All Balls has to do is yell back the quarterly GDP figures since we've been out of government. I do believe the tide is beginning to turn on the coalition. They've had their honeymoon and now that people are actually starting to scrutinise their policies, they're coming up short.

[identity profile] paddythebamf.livejournal.com 2011-01-29 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you. Man up, Ashdown. Sticks and stones and all that cobblers.

I'm sure Balls will do marvellously. He's good at opposition. Far better than he was in government.

[identity profile] therealpm.livejournal.com 2011-01-29 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm, Treasury questions are likely to be a bit of a Pantomime, but I'm sure neither will go down without a fight.

[identity profile] paddythebamf.livejournal.com 2011-01-29 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
*sigh* Should have known a Labourite would never resist the cheap shots.

Well, pleasant as this as been, I must say goodbye now. I'll be in touch about our little race in due course.

[identity profile] therealpm.livejournal.com 2011-01-29 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I look forward to it.
