The coalition government's "enterprise zones" seem to be as nebulous and ineffective a concept as their "big society". It is disappointing that the Tories should run back to one of the great failures of the Thatcher years, but with an economic policy so lacking in strategy, it is possible that they see no option for the future but to repeat the mistakes of the past. Perhaps a "natural pause" to "reflect" and "reconsider" is in order?

Interesting suggestion from the meetup:

A post for anonymous (or non-anonymous) con crit and suggestions for the rp-ing of this character; both in terms of tone (e.g. whether speech patterns are right, whether it's getting OOC) and basic fact checking ('What do you mean by writing his favourite colour as being mauve?! In this 1986 interview he clearly says it's maroon.').

A little bit of wishful thinking, perhaps, on the part of several journalists.

Other than the minor amusement of dispatching the unfounded criticisms of a few unwise Tories, today has been rather tedious. Distracted myself by watching the cricket. It's surprisingly amusing when one takes a more active role in determining the outcome of the match.

Ankle update: cast itches. Incessantly.
